Restoration Workdays

Broughton Nature and Wildlife Education Area

Sat, Jan 13, 1-4PM

Mon, Jan 15, 2-4 PM

Dear Friends of the Broughton Nature Preserve,
We will host two restoration workdays this week.
Saturday, 1-4P M. Blue Trail Brush Removal and Brushpile Fire.
We will continue removing invasive brush along the Blue Trails this Saturday Afternoon. Come dress for the weather! Good boots are necessary–it will be muddy!
Meet at the GWB Complex #1. (Directions below.)
Monday, 2-4 PM. Seed Sowing on the Broughton Right of Way.
We will be sowing the native seeds we collected on several hillsides recently cleared near the Broughton Right of Way. While the weather will be cold, I am hoping the frozen ground makes seeding a hillside easier.
Meet at the top of the hill at the GWB Complex #3. (Directions below.)
Tools, gloves and snacks (hot chocolate) will be provided on both workdays, along with good company!
Hope to see some of you there. Embrace the winter!
Directions to GWB Complex #1:
1. Enter the GWB Complex #1 off State Route 821. This is the complex nearest Marietta, just off Route 60.
2. Drive into the Complex and head left towards the Community Building.
3. Once you cross the creek, turn right and go as far down as possible. Park near the YMCA’s furthest building.
4. We meet at the trailhead of the Blue Trail.
