Restoration Workday, Saturday, June 3; 1-3 PM

Dear Friends of the Broughton Nature Preserve,

We will be intrepid and continue our restoration work on the Blue Trail this Saturday from 1-3 pm.  Meet near the YMCA back building in GWB complex #1.  (See directions below.)

Here is the good news:  we are working in a shaded, forested valley, so the temperatures are a bit cooler there.  It is starting to feel like summer out there!

Important:  dress in long pants, long sleeve shirts, and good shoes/boots–we are working in the woods along the creek, and there are both bugs and thorns to contend with! Note: The photo below was taken along the lower portion of the Blue Trail. Click for a link to trail maps.

We will provide tools, snacks, water and good company.

Cheers!

Mark K.

Directions to GWB Complex #1:

  1. Enter the GWB Complex #1 off State Route 821.  This is the complex nearest Marietta, just off Route 60.
  2. Drive into the Complex and head left towards the Community Building.
  3. Once you cross the creek, turn right and go as far down as possible.  Park near the YMCA’s furthest building.
  4. We meet at the trailhead of the Blue Trail.
