Broughton Nature Preserve: Thurs, Sept 5, 9-11 am

Mountwood Park: Sat, Sept 7, 9-Noon

Dear Friends of the Broughton Nature Preserve,

Workday at Broughton Pollinator Habitat: Thursday, 9AM-11AM.

It is time to start collecting native seeds!  We will have a two hour seed collecting workday at the Broughton Pollinator Habitat this Thursday from 9AM-11AM.

In addition to collecting native seeds (monarda, virginia rye, black eyed susan, purple coneflower, grey headed coneflower, milkweed, and a few others!), will we pull some invasive grass (Johnson weed).

Come prepared to work in a pollinator patch!–long pants and long sleeved shirts are recommended.  We will provide tools, gloves and snacks.  (Bring your hand clippers if you have them.)

Directions:  The pollinator habit is located along the Devola Multi-use path.  Enter the “Broughton Farms” drive off of Rt. 60–just past Rt. 821 as you are heading out of town.  Turn right into the drive.  We will park along the driveway.

Workday at Mountwood Park: Sat. 9AM-Noon.

There will be a restoration workday at Mountwood Park (Wood County, WV) this Saturday from 9AM-Noon.  We will be cutting invasive brush along the trails.  (See attached flyer for detailed information.)

Hope to see you this weekend!
