Restoration Workday on Blue Trail this Thursday, Aug. 14, 9AM-Noon

Dear Friends of the Broughton Nature Preserve,

We will host another restoration workday on the Blue Trail this Thursday (Aug. 14th), from 9AM-Noon.  We are making great progress along the trail–opening up the understory to light and the chance for native plants to recover.

Meet at the head of the Blue Trail–in GWB Complex #1.  (Directions are below.)

Dress for the weather.  We will mostly be in wooded areas cutting brush.  Long pants and long sleeve shirts and sturdy shoes are recommended.

We will provide tools, snacks and good company.

Hope you can join us!

Directions to GWB Complex #1:

  1. Enter the GWB Complex #1 off State Route 821.  This is the complex nearest Marietta, just off Route 60.
  2. Drive into the Complex and head left towards the Community Building.
  3. Once you cross the creek, turn right and go as far down as possible.  Park near the Buckeye Room—the furthest building before you hit the woods.
  4. We meet at the trailhead of the Blue Trail.
