Dear Friends of the Broughton Nature Preserve (BNP),

A New Year!  Best wishes to everyone.

We will begin the New Year with two restoration activities:

Thursday, 2-4PM:  Finish seed sowing on the BNP right of way (ROW).  We have one more section of the ROW to sow the seeds we collected last fall.  If there is time, we will also start removing trees growing in the ROW.

Meeting:  GWB Complex #3, at the top of the hill.  (Directions below.)

Saturday, 1-4PM.  We will begin removing invasive shrubs along the Blue Trail.  Weather permitting, we will burn the brush that we cut.  Gloves and tools will be provided.

Meeting:  GWB Complex #1.  Park near the Blue Trail entrance, near the YMCA building (furthest back).

For both restoration workdays, dress for the weather.  We guarantee good company, snacks (including hot chocolate) and mud!

Hope to see you this week!  Questions, call or e-mail me at 224.545.1604.
