Final ER Seed Collection Day, Sun, Nov 19 @ 2 PM

Dear Friends of the Broughton Nature Preserve,

Well, I think this Sunday will be our last seed collection workday of this season. We will go after native grasses (big bluestem, switchgrass and Indian grass) along with any flowering plants (forbs) we can find along the Broughton Right of Way.

Let’s meet at the GWB complex #3 at 2PM. Directions are below. We will be hiking the ROW so there are some hills to climb, but mostly we will stay near the road.

Come dressed for the weather (fall weather: cool and clear). But have good shoes, long pants and long sleeved shirt.

We will provide tools, snacks and good company!

Hope to see you on Sunday!

Directions to GWB Complex #3:

1. Enter the GWB Complex #3 off State Route 821. It is the complex nearest the entrance/exit off of Interstate 77.
2. Go up the hill to the first set of buildings. Turn left.
3. Proceed all the way to the end of these buildings. Before you head down to the pond, turn right, and go all the way up the hill. The road will take you past all of the buildings. The road up the hill is a gravel road.
4. Parking is on top of this hill.
