ER This Weekend: Sat 9- Noon @ Mountwood Park & Sun. 1-4 PM @ Broughton Complex 3

Dear Friends of the Broughton Nature Preserve,
Two chances to do restoration this weekend.  Believe it or not, this is the best time of the year to do restoration.  All the critters and native plants are dormant, and the invasive shrubs are easy to spot!.
Saturday:  9-Noon.  Our friends at Mountwood have their monthly Sat, 9-Noon restoration workday at Mountwood Park.  We will tackle invasive shrubs and maybe burn some brush we cut earlier in the year.  Meet at the main parking lot (near the Museum) at 9AM.
Sunday 1-4PM.  Broughtons, Complex #3.  (See directions below.)  We will continue working on the Red Trail and hopefully burn some brush piles we created earlier in the fall.
Dress for the weather (cold!).  But I promise the work and hot chocolate will help keep you warm????.
Embrace the winter!
Mark
Here are the directions to GWB Complex #3:

Directions to GWB Complex #3 (restoration workdays):

  • Enter the GWB Complex #3 off State Route 821.  It is the complex nearest the entrance/exit off Interstate 77.
  • Go up the hill to the first set of buildings.  Turn left.
  • Proceed all the way to the end of these buildings.  Before you head down to the pond, turn right, and go all the way up the hill.  The road will take you past all of the buildings.  The road up the hill is a gravel road.
  • Parking is on top of this hill.
